Best Restaurants in Jacksonville:
Palms Fish Camp
6359 Heckscher Dr, Jacksonville, FL 32226
Just a short drive from popular Jacksonville state parks like Little Talbot Island State Park and Pumpkin Hill Creek Preserve State Park, Palms Fish Camp is a fun spot along the St. Johns River. The restaurant offers everything from fresh seafood dishes served with a side of hushpuppies to delicious pizzas.
I highly recommend stopping here for drinks and food. The atmosphere is so much fun and the establishment offers both indoor and outdoor seating. There’s even a large bar outside. I enjoyed sitting outside and taking in the beautiful views of the St. Johns River.
There’s boat docking available at the restaurant, making it a very popular spot for boaters to grab a drink and a bite to eat.
Flying Fish Taphouse
1341 Airport Rd, Jacksonville, FL 32218
Just minutes from the Jacksonville International Airport, Flying Fish Taphouse is the perfect spot to grab a delicious meal post-flight. Surrounded by off-site airport parking lots, it’s an unexpected restaurant that packs a big punch.
Order the pretzel sticks with beer cheese to start your meal. The restaurant menu has a large offering of entrees, ranging from seafood platters to filling salads. Sam had a huge salmon dish with rice and beans and fresh veggies, while I enjoyed the Southern Chicken Salad – delicious!
There’s a large dining area for families and those wishing to enjoy a nice sit-down meal. If you’re traveling solo or want company, the restaurant also has a large bar that serves the same menu and has TVs for the popular games.
Silkie’s Chicken & Champagne Bar
1602 Walnut St, Jacksonville, FL 32206
Opened by Chef Kenny Gilbert and Anna Howard in 2020, Silkie’s Chicken & Champagne Bar is a fast-casual restaurant offering counter service dining and delicious chicken and biscuits. The restaurant also specializes in champagne cocktails and offers a champagne flight where you can try four of the cocktail offerings.
Silkie’s has both indoor and outdoor dining, and I highly recommend grabbing a seat in their outdoor area if the weather cooperates. It’s very cozy and is a great place to gather with friends.
The restaurant is currently open Wednesday and Thursday for dinner and Friday through Sunday for brunch and dinner. Silkie’s Chicken & Champagne Bar is a cashless establishment.
Coop 303
303 Atlantic Blvd, Atlantic Beach, FL 32233
Located within Beaches Town Center in the heart of Jacksonville’s beaches, Coop 303 is an eclectic spot for tasty food and pretty cocktails.
There are two outdoor dining areas that are perfect for enjoying food and drinks while people-watching. They have indoor and outdoor spots that are great for events like bridal and baby showers, both of which were going on while we were there.
The location is also a great spot for events like bridal parties, baby showers, and birthday celebrations. Try to plan ahead and make a reservation if you can, because tables fill up quickly, especially if you want outdoor seating.
Sam and I sat outside on the upper level overlooking the shops. It was a beautiful day and we were surrounded by colorful flower baskets.
Coop 303 has a delicious cocktail menu, plenty of wines, and a wide assortment of food options. Sam had a beautiful seasonal salad while I indulged in the fried chicken basket with sides of mac-and-cheese and mashed potatoes. The basket was enough to feed at least two people.
Terry’s Grill
605 New Berlin Rd #7, Jacksonville, FL 32218
Terry’s Grill should be your go-to breakfast spot in Jacksonville, serving southern-style breakfast and lunch options, all at an affordable price.
Breakfast offerings include classics like eggs, bacon and hashbrowns, omelets, and pancakes. For lunch, consider the triple decker club sandwich or a juicy burger.
Terry’s Grill is a popular spot in Jacksonville, so make sure to arrive early or be prepared for a little wait (tables move fast). The restaurant resembles a diner with tables and booths, and also has a small counter for solo diners.
The Brick
3585 St. Johns Avenue, Jacksonville, FL 32205
The Brick restaurant is located in the Historic Avondale neighborhood and serves upscale American cuisine. Their lunch and dinner menu is delicious, and they offer a fantastic brunch menu on Saturday and Sunday.
I loved that you can enjoy your meal just off the sidewalk of the historic main street, although the inside of the restaurant is quite stunning. They have stained- glass windows and beautiful artwork that makes dining inside an absolute joy.
Estrella Cocina
100 W Bay St Ste 701, Jacksonville, FL 32202
Located in Downtown Jacksonville, Estrella Cocina offers upscale rooftop dining. Depending on the time of day, choose a meal from their lunch, dinner or late-night menus, and consider a delicious cocktail to go along with it.
The restaurant really stands out for its unique dishes like Quesadillas de Esparagos and Flautas de Pollo, and the beautiful views of downtown Jax.
Estrella Cocina is a popular spot, so I highly recommend making reservations in advance, especially if you want to sit on the outside deck. Note that the restaurant is closed on Sundays.
Cinco de Mayo Authentic Mexican
Multiple Locations
With several locations across Florida, Cinco de Mayo Authentic Mexican delivers some of the tastiest Mexican food in a fun environment. The restaurant is brightly decorated and features a bar if you are stopping in for drinks or dining alone.
If you’re looking for an affordable and delicious spot in Downtown Jacksonville, Cinco de Mayo is a great option. I also love how quickly the food is prepared so it’s the perfect place if you’re starving.
New Berlin Fish House & Oyster Company
604 New Berlin Rd, Jacksonville, FL 32218
If you’re looking for a wide variety of fresh fish, New Berlin Fish House & Oyster Company is calling your name. With Fresh ‘Just Caught’ Seafood a distinct section of the menu, you’re certain to find fresh fish cooked to your liking.
I was a huge fan of the salad offerings while Sam opted for the ‘Just Caught’ Grouper since our server said that was the biggest fish of the day. I thought both were huge and perfectly filling.
The restaurant is well-decorated and very cute, and also has a great bar area for dining.
