If you’re thinking about the best food spots in Wisconsin, Sheboygan probably doesn’t pop into your head – but it should! You can find some of the best restaurants in Sheboygan, which is pretty impressive for a city of around 50,000. My celiac husband, Sam, had no trouble finding plenty of safe and tasty options!
Although Sheboygan is known as the Bratwurst Capital of the World, I chose to pass on their speciality, but did enjoy many of their local restaurants and eateries. Should you want to indulge in the best brat in the world, I’ve included a few spots at the bottom of this post.

My trip to Sheboygan was hosted by Visit Sheboygan, but all thoughts and opinions are my own. And trust me, I’m a picky eater and have the tastebuds of a 5-year-old.

Best Restaurants in Sheboygan:
Black Pig Restaurant
821 N 8th St, Sheboygan, WI 53081
Make a reservation at Black Pig Restaurant for an elevated dining experience in a cute and cozy environment. Located across from the Stefanie H. Weill Center for the Performing Arts, the restaurant is a great spot for a date night before a show, or a fun dinner with friends.
Black Pig advertises “casual comfort food with a twist”, and the food did not disappoint. I started with a pre-dinner Blood Orange Cosmo, followed by the Cider- Brined Oven-Roasted Chicken, and both were incredible.
The gluten-free options on the menu were clearly identified, and Sam also enjoyed the chicken dish and a GF cider.
I really enjoyed the ambience of this spot with cozy seating areas for drinks and ample table spots for dining. Perhaps my favorite aspect of the restaurant is the pig decor found throughout the space.
The restaurant is closed on Sundays and Mondays and reservations are highly encouraged.
Field to Fork
511 S 8th St, Sheboygan, WI 53081
For the most delicious breakfast and lunch menu, head to Field to Fork where you can start with a juice from the fresh-pressed juice bar or a breakfast cocktail. For food, order a delicious breakfast item, sandwich, salad or soup. Field to Fork is one of four restaurants/markets that is part of Stefano’s Restaurant Group, known for fresh and local food.
Sam and I shared a berry smoothie to start, which was so good. For my main entree, I enjoyed the Sunrise Sandwich which I ordered plain with just cheddar and egg – absolutely delicious! Sam had a gluten-free salad filled with fresh greens, fruit, and veggies, and no dressing in typical Sam fashion. We were both full for hours!
Pacifico Mexican Bar & Grille
820 Indiana Ave, Sheboygan, WI 53081
Sheboyan also has a delicious Mexican food scene, including the popular Pacifico Mexican Bar & Grille. While the restaurant offers locations in Sheboygan, Plymouth, and Viroqua, their Sheboygan location is situated along the Sheboygan River and offers ample outdoor seating during the warmer months. It’s the perfect place to sip a cold margarita.
Pacifico Mexican Bar & Grille opens daily at 11am for you to grab your tasty margaritas and delicious Mexican specialties like enchiladas, quesadillas, and burritos.
Stefano’s Slo Food Market
731 Pennsylvania Ave, Sheboygan, WI 53081
Another of Stefano’s culinary creations, Slo Food is a market specializing in fresh and local food grown from sustainable farming practices. Along with typical market items, Slo Food also offers a coffee bar, bakery, and deli with bowls, wraps, and sandwiches.
While this might be considered more of a food market, Slo Food is a great spot to stop baked breakfast goods or lunch and dinner options. I grabbed a specialty blueberry lavender lemonade and morning bun for breakfast while I was visiting the area, and I highly recommend it as a breakfast spot.
Eb Flo
340 S Pier Dr, Sheboygan, WI 53081
Get some morning work done and enjoy a light breakfast at Eb Flo Coffeehouse. Located along the Sheboygan River, this local coffeehouse offers delicious coffee and lattes with scenic seating along the riverfront.
Their specialty though? Croffles! A hybrid of a croissant and a waffle, you can order your croffle with tons of toppings from nutella and strawberries (sweet), or eggs and avocado (savory). In addition to croffles, Eb Flo also offers a large selection of bagels, toasts, oatmeal, and various baked goods.
The coffeehouse does offer a gluten-free bagel, but I’d be concerned about cross-contamination for celiac friends as they have so much flour and non-gluten-free bakery items available. I’m also not certain if they have a separate toaster.
The coffeehouse is located on the South Pier and is open daily from 7am until 3pm. I recommend arriving early on the weekends. It’s a popular spot and tables can fill quickly.
Urbane
1231 N 8th St, Sheboygan, WI 53081
If you’re looking for a fun cocktail spot, Urbane has you covered. Located in downtown Sheboygan, Urbane also offers small plates and entrees, along with their delicious drinks. You can grab a spot along their large bar or choose a high-top table to enjoy your food and drinks.
Everything on the menu is prepared in-house with locally sourced ingredients. You’ll find a wide variety of options, from entree-sized salads and pulled pork nachos to steak sandwiches and coconut shrimp.
Urbane downtown restaurant is open Tuesday through Saturday from 4pm until 9pm.
Harry’s Prohibition Bistro
668 S Pier Dr, Sheboygan, WI 53081
A must-try dinner spot in Sheboygan is Harry’s Prohibition Bistro located along the Sheboygan River. The restaurant is known for their flavorful wood-fired pizzas, delicious wines, and specialty pastas. Your mouth will water just walking in the door – the food smells heavenly!
The restaurant offers year-round bar seating, indoor dining, and a heated patio overlooking the Sheboygan River. When the weather is nice, you can grab a table outside and enjoy the sounds of the river.
Harry’s Prohibition Bistro is open for dinner and drinks Tuesday through Sunday from 5pm until 9pm.
Blast Softserve
406 Pennsylvania Ave, Sheboygan, WI 53081
After dinner, head to Blast Softserve along the riverfront for a tasty treat. Known for their giant soft serve cones, Blast also offers Dole pineapple whip, slush puppies, and other delicious deserts to compliment your Sheboygan meal.
I love the walk-up counter where you can then enjoy their outdoor seating or take a stroll along the riverwalk as you watch the sunset.
Blast Soft Serve is open seasonally and is truly the perfect post-dinner stop for a little treat. Head to their Facebook page before visiting to ensure they are open.
